Journey to the Roof Top of the World + An Audience with His Holiness Dalai Lama
Himalayas
June 1–8, 2027
We are heading to the Himalayas to experience something truly great — to seek answers to the big questions and return changed.
The Himalayas are a world of their own.
There is something about being surrounded by these vast mountains that shifts your perspective. The Himalayas recharge you, expand your horizons, and create space for powerful insights and unexpected realizations.

And then there is the opportunity to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama — a rare and deeply meaningful experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.

Eight extraordinary days in one of the most breathtaking places on Earth. Ancient monasteries. High-altitude lakes.
Snow-capped peaks stretching endlessly into the sky. And the kind of beauty that stays with you long after you leave.

  • Olga Potemkina
I help create these journeys because of what happens along the way: the experiences we share, the people we meet, the deep conversations, and the profound realizations that become possible only when we step outside our everyday lives.
I truly believe that everyone should experience the Himalayas at least once in a lifetime.
One of the greatest values of this journey is the community you become part of.
Open-minded, curious, accomplished men and women from different countries and walks of life — people you might never have crossed paths with in your everyday world.
Potemkins people is more than a travel group. It’s a community.
You may arrive on your own.You leave with new stories, new perspectives, and new friends for life.
The Journey:
Day 1
Our Himalayan journey begins in Leh. Upon arrival, we will be met at the airport and transfer you to our hotel. We settle in, slow down, and give yourself time to simply be.
It is time to leave the stress of the journey behind and breathe in the calm of the mountains. We take our time to acclimatize and allow our bodies to adjust to the thin mountain air.
The entire journey takes place at an altitude of 3,500+ meters above sea level. The high altitude can be beneficial for both body and mind, but it is important to give ourselves time to adjust.
The reward comes on the way down — a wonderful sense of lightness and even a touch of euphoria.
Day 2
A First Encounter with Buddhism
Optional morning meditation together.
We begin the day with a gentle acclimatization walk through Leh, visiting some of its most important places: the Royal Palace, the Buddha statue, and ancient local monasteries.
Along the way, we will learn about the history and philosophy of Buddhism through talks and conversations.
This is a day to discover a differ in reality — a different way of living, seeing the world, and understanding life. It is a chance to gain our first meaningful insights and begin a process of inner transformation.
Day 3
Immersion in Buddhism.
Today, we will visit three significant monasteries.
Thiksey — a magnificent 15th-century monastery, home to around 120 monks.
Hemis — one of the oldest and wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh, founded in the 15th century.
Takthok — a rare cave monastery belonging to the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism.
Today, we will discover how diverse Buddhism can be. Through insightful talks, we will deepen our understanding of its philosophy and traditions. We will have the opportunity to take part in rituals together with the monks and experience Buddhist practices not only intellectually, but on a deeper, more personal level.
In the evening, we will share our impressions, rest, and enjoy some free time.
Day 4
Today, we travel to the famous Pangong Lake, one of the most spectacular places in Ladakh.
At 4,200 meters above sea level, surrounded by endless mountains, the lake feels almost otherworldly. Its beauty and vastness leave a lasting impression.
We will meditate by the lake, enjoy a picnic on the shore, and have plenty of time to walk, be quiet, and take in the incredible landscape.
This is a day to pause and look within. To rethink our path, hold on to what truly matters, and let go of what no longer does.
In the evening, we will gather around the campfire, share our impressions, and enjoy the magic of the night.
Day 5
Today, we drive along one of the highest motorable roads in the world, reaching almost 6,000 meters, on our way to the Nubra Valley.
We are now deep in the heart of the Himalayas. The views are breathtaking, the landscapes almost otherworldly, and the contrasts of nature are incredible. You will want to take a thousand photos — and still keep looking.
We will cross a vast high-altitude desert at around 4,000 meters. The whole day feels like being on another planet.
Sharing experiences like these brings people incredibly close. By this point in the journey, you and the whole group will feel completely natural and comfortable together.
And there will be a simple feeling that life is exactly as it should be.
You will know it by the smile that appears for no particular reason.
Day 6 — Dharamsala
Today, we fly to the sacred town of Dharamsala, home to the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Most of the day will be dedicated to the journey and logistics. We will take off from an altitude of 3,500 meters, giving us a rare chance to see the Himalayas from above — thousands of snow-covered peaks stretching as far as the eye can see on both sides of the plane.
In the evening, we check into our new hotel and take a quiet walk through the sacred town. We will also receive a briefing about the upcoming audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
A feeling of anticipation fills the air.
We will turn in early, rest and preparation for tomorrow.
Day 7
Today is one of the most special days of our journey — a day that will stay with you for a very long time, and perhaps become one of those stories you will share with your children and friends.
We will visit the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, go through security and a short briefing, and take our seats in the main hall together with other invited guests.
Then His Holiness will enter. He has a unique way of filling the room with warmth and attention. He will share his teachings, which are often lively, sincere, and touched with humor and irony.
Many people describe a profound sense of acceptance that stays with them long after the journey — a quiet feeling of “you are okay just as you are.”
We will then have the opportunity to meditate together with His Holiness, followed by a brief personal interaction.
It will be a truly extraordinary day — one that may open the door to a completely new spiritual experience.
Day 8 — Integration & Departure
Today, we’ll need some time to take it all in.
We will share our feelings with the group and look back at some of the best moments of the journey.
You will also have the opportunity to receive personal feedback from Grigory Potemkin, if you wish.
We will finish with a closing meditation — a moment to take in everything we have experienced, make it part of us, and bring the inner processes we have started to a close.
On this day, we go back to our normal lives, but we’re not the same people anymore.
